14 Year Old Jerry Cunningham Dragged and Run Over by Bus in Florida

Video from a city bus in Broward County, Florida shows 14 year old Jerry Cunningham being dragged after a driver shut the door in front of his face and the teen’s arm became caught in the door. The kid was running sideways and pounding on the door but the driver paid no heed until two female passengers, who blocked the driver’s view expressed horror over what they’d just witnessed. By that time, the teen’s caught arm separated from the door and the kid fell under the bus.

Jerry Cunningham survived the ordeal but is in a Florida hospital in a critical condition with fractures to his face, ribs, and ankle. Bus driver – 55 year old Reinaldo Soto has been placed on administrative leave pending outcome of investigation into the incident.

This whole situation is pretty typical. I’ve had several messed up encounters with public bus drivers who sometimes as if deliberately waited until I got to the door and then shot the door in my face and drove away. I have no doubt that, as workers who come into direct contact with the public, they get a lot of shit from impossible to please commuters, but they often act like idiots too. This just seems to be the case.

Despite those two women standing behind the line, blocking his view to have a chat with the driver, the kid was pounding on the door and other passengers were reportedly screaming too. I have little doubt that the driver saw the kid and knew he had just excluded him from boarding the bus, but he may not have known his arm became caught in the door. He had probably done that to many kids many a time and thought that this time around, just as each time before the kid will just have to wait for the next bus cause he ain’t spending extra 2 seconds for him to get in, but the arm in the door was something he likely did not expect.

As for the kid – I don’t think he’ll regret it. He used to be a nobody, just as every other kid from his school. But now he’s someone who’s received worldwide attention. Those few broken bones will heal, but the attention he’s gonna get from this point on will make it all worthwhile. Every pair of labia in his school will be his for the taking. They can’t wait to wrap theirs around his peen and become single mothers with his kids.
